CPC Corporation, the Taiwan based petrochemical major, has after recalculating its pricing formulae decided to lower the October delivery price of ethylene by about 40 percent from the previous month to US $900 per month.
Accordingly price of propylene has also been decreased to $1,000 per ton, down by nearly 23 percent and that of butadiene to $2300 per ton, down $100 from the previous month.
According to market experts, the price quoted by CPC Corp of basic raw materials is now in uniformity with contract prices prevailing in Europe, the US and other major petrochemical markets of Asia.
This changed pricing formulae and lowering of prices of key petrochemical inputs like ethylene and propylene by CPC Corp has come about due to a request from the Taiwan Petrochemical Association.
