Experts anticipate that in the coming months, consumers will spend less on apparel. Presently, a consumer spends around VND 150,000 (or US$9) per month, on an average, on apparels. This figure is expected to decline.

These were announced by textile and garment industry after a study on consumers conducted by Vietnam Business Research and Enterprises Assistance Center. During the poll 70.8 percent of the consumers said that they feel more confident when they wear fashionable clothing.

28 percent participants commented that, domestic textile and garment industry does not satisfy their requirement. Only 17 percent of those polled said that the domestic industry meets the demand of consumers.

The survey also showed that 70 percent of the consumer buy apparel, monthly or once in every two or three months. The buying frequency is directly proportional to the money spent on fashion products.
