High yield elates cotton grower

Cotton one of the core crops of Tajikistan, is considered to be one of the key foreign exchange earners for the country, contributes nearly 16 percent of total exports.
Khatlon and Sughd provinces are the main cotton growing areas in Tajikistan, accounting over 60 percent of the cotton harvest of the entire country.
Khatlon region has aimed to produce 331,900 tons of cotton during the ongoing fiscal year and has achieved around 73 percent of total target, by touching 244,000 tons mark.
This year, the District of Sarband has met its yearly production target of cotton. The region was able to cultivate around 2,317 tons of cotton till now.
Sughd province's cotton growers have yielded more than 83,500 tons of cotton, which is 48.7 percent of the target. They aim to cultivate 172,100 tons of cotton.
Tajikistan intended to produce around 552,200 tons of cotton during the whole year.
Experts are of the opinion, with such high growth, the country can expect a huge profit in exports this year.
