Medibtikar supports EGYTEX

EGYTEX 2008 Trade Fair is the largest & the only internationally established trade show in Egypt for manufacturers of Fibers, Yarns, Fabrics, Apparel, Home Textiles and Accessories.

It provides a display of the full spectrum of the supply chain involved in textile manufacturing, offering extensive choices for an advanced and complete chain on the production aspects of the textile products.

EGYTEX 2008 Trade Fair will take place in Cairo, Egypt on 16-18 November 2008. Medibtikar, in close collaboration with the Fashion Design Center, Ministry of Industry and Trade, will hold the MEDA INNOVA Fashion show with input from the Medibtikar Design Network Members.

Medibtikar also will hold the 4th Textile workshop for the Medibtikar Textile Network members in parallel to other activities that will take place such as Agadir Member State Countries Conference.

Medibtikar aims, through supporting the EGYTEX 2008 Trade Fair, to establish high profile meetings between textile companies from Europe and MEDA Region, as well as arranging meetings on the Fairground between buyers from Europe and the exhibitors in order to ensure the sustainability of the programme objectives and activities.

EGYTEX 2008 Trade Fair has taken place in Cairo since 1997, it attracted wide range of exhibitors locally and internationally including: England, France, Germany, USA, Turkey, China, Korea, India, Pakistan, Syria, Jordon, United Arab Emirates, Tunisia, Morocco and Saudi Arabia.

The Fair is strategically placed in the trading hub of the Middle East and the Mediterranean area, highlighting the region's demand for trade and competitive priced products under a complete vertical integrated textile Industry.

Exhibitors from Asia, EU and the Middle East region will display their products and services in the industries of ready-made garments, spinning, weaving, fabric dyeing, accessories, quality control services, financial and insurance institutions.

Egytex 2008 Trade Fair has the ultimate goal to increase the trade relations from and to Egypt through this international event which attracts a vast range of international and local buyers which will be the chance for The Medibtikar Programme and the Textile Sector to establish further relationships and business relations with European buyers and potential buyers.

The Medibtikar Textile Network is a project that has been initiated by the Medibtikar Programme of the European Commission. The main objective of the network is to support innovation and technology transfer from the EU Member States across the MEDA Region. Within the framework of Medibtikar Programme, the Textile Sector was identified as one of the key sectors in order to identify the specific needs of the sector a Sectoral Study throughout the Region was conducted in 2007 and the outcomes were presented during Istanbul workshop in February 2008.
