It has been noted that, in these tough international trade conditions, the Government of Kazakhstan is doing its best to strengthen cooperation with its trade partners, to ensure steady and profitable business.

Protocol to Agreement on partnership and cooperation was inked between Kazakhstan and the EU in Brussels, recently. Expansion of textile agreements, so as to boost bilateral trade among the two regions, was the focus of this Protocol.

Kazakh Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador to Belgium, Mr Konstantin Zhigalov, and the French Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador, the Permanent Envoy to the EU signed this document.

Statistics show that the Kazakh-EU trade turnover reached US $30.6 billion during the first nine months of 2008, registering a year-on-year growth of 55.6 percent. This makes EU country's largest trading partner.

Reportedly, this accord sets a legal base for textile trade between the two regions even for the post-bilateral agreements related to the industry.

Recently, China and Kazakhstan also agreed to continue enhancing collaboration in the fields of machinery, textile, transportation and logistics.
