A Bangladesh Trade Fair 2008 was put open to the public yesterday in Kathmandu, Nepal. Bangladeshi companies are participating in the fair on a big scale and this fair is expected to increase the bi-lateral trade among the two Asian countries.
From amongst many products and sectors from the handloom, handicrafts, clothing and textiles on display are Sarees (Jamdani, Silk and Muslin), Jute products, Ready made garments, Bed covers, Woven items and lots of other handicraft items.
The Nepalese foreign Minister inaugurated the fair and the Minister of Commerce was the guest of honour with other ranking officials from the government who attended the inaugural ceremony.
The two ministers stressed on the need to increase the bi-lateral relations which they said would provide a boost to the trade as well as hoped that this fair would go a long way in cementing the ties and trade between the two countries.
The fair is expected to run till the seventh of December.
