Health insurance for 1.77 million handloom weavers

The private sector general insurance company ICICI Lombard has covered 1.77 million families under its health Insurance scheme for handloom weavers in twenty nine states across the country. This was revealed by a spokesman of the company.
Under the scheme, the handloom weavers and their families are provided health insurance cover and access to vital healthcare. The company has also conducted 700 free OPD clinics in weaver's clusters covering over 827,000 weavers and over 131 health camps covering more than 75,000 patients.
This health insurance cover has proved as a boon to these poor handloom weavers who get access to medical facilities by just paying a small premium.
