Through increased focus on the brand "Hohenstein" and by re-designing the company logo accordingly, the Hohenstein Institute in Bönnigheim is emphasising its successful transformation from a German research and testing institute to a global provider of highly specialized services with respect to textile-related issues.

Institute Director Dr. Stefan Mecheels knows the value of the reputation that the research and service centre enjoys, especially along the entire textile processing chain. He says, "The Hohenstein name stands for quality, reliability and know-how when it comes to textiles. The same is true for all of the different divisions of our company. We would like to highlight these shared characteristics with the new logo.

In view of our broad range of services, our new appearance will ensure rapid brand recognition and convey the key message: There is only one Hohenstein and it fully engages all its strength and knowledge for its customers. Accordingly, all the different divisions of our company will appear in future under this uniform umbrella brand."

Another expression of further strategic developments is the founding of the "Hohenstein Textile Testing Institute GmbH & Co. KG". The testing and services offered by the Material Testing Department at the Hohenstein Institute was transferred to the new company on 1 December 2008.

Lutz Seifert is the business manager of the new company. Dr. Siegfried Glander will continue to be responsible for technical direction. The goal of the restructuring is the formation of operatively and independently acting company divisions for services that objectively belong together.

Dr. Mecheels sees the reorganisation as an important prerequisite for reacting even faster and more flexibly to customer desires and market developments than had been possible in the past as part of a large association working in conjunction with all the other service areas of the Hohenstein Research Institute.
