Kalyan cotton prices at the National Multi Commodity Exchange of India (NMCE) for the May contract have shown down trend during the week starting from December 8 to 13.
The opening price on Monday was quoted at Rs486.20 per lot (1 lot = 20 kg). By the day end, it closed at Rs486.10 per lot. However, during trading session, once the price reached a level of Rs187 per lot.
On December 10, the opening prices further plunged Rs482 per lot and since then, the trade graph for Kalyan cotton acquired a down trend.
On Saturday, Kalyan cotton May series closed at Rs.477.40 down by Rs6 from Rs483.40 previous week. The series saw an intra-day high of Rs487 and low of Rs476.80 during the week.
Turnover this week was around Rs522.3 million which was higher than Rs438.5 millionof previous week.
Thus, the entire week has shown decline for May contract series.
