The whole of the Bahrain International Exhibition Centre will be devoted to the art of shopping during the annual Autumn Fair to be held from 21 to 29 January 2009.

Now in its 20th year, the Autumn Fair is a shopper's paradise, an exciting bazaar of traders selling spices, handicrafts and carpets that will fill both halls of the Exhibition Centre. The rich assortment of products include food delicacies, electrical goods, toys, luxurious textiles, cosmetics, interior décor accessories, rugs, novelties and much more.

“Thousands of shoppers flock to the Autumn Fair on an annual basis for its wide selection of local and international products. There will be over 500 stands brought together from more than 25 countries worldwide, including Bahrain, China, Egypt, Iran, India, Kuwait, Pakistan, Syria, Turkey and the UAE. This is an ideal way to beat the credit crunch and recent inflation with some amazing bargains” commented Mohammed Ebrahim, Project Manager of Autumn Fair 2009 at Arabian Exhibition Management.

“Be prepared to barter with the hundreds of shopkeepers offering a kaleidoscope of shopping opportunities at this lively and colourful fair which is unique to the Middle East and has cemented its place as one of Bahrain's cultural events. Last year alone the Autumn Fair attracted over 170,078 visitors and we expect this figure to rise again for the 2009 show,” added Mohammed Ebrahim.

Special to this year's show is a raffle for a Kia Opirus, sponsored by A.A. bin Hindi Motors; entry to the raffle is free of charge on purchase of an Autumn Fair entry ticket. “The vibrant colours and piquant flavours of the Autumn Fair continue to ensure that it is one of Bahrain's most successful exhibitions which draws large numbers of visitors from Saudi Arabia, the region's single largest market,” remarked Mohammed Ebrahim.

Held under the patronage of the Ministry of Industry and Commerce, the Autumn Fair will be open daily to the public from 10am to 1pm and 4pm to 10pm. A special ladies only morning will be held on Sunday, 25 and 26 January from 10am to 1pm. Entry is 700 files while children aged up to five years old will be admitted free of charge.
