A total of 467 exhibitors are partaking in the fair from diverse countries like India, Pakistan, USA, Japan, Germany and Thailand, who number 22 out of the total exhibitors. The trade fair is an annual exercise under taken by the ministry and the bureau to promote local products to overseas buyers.

The products to be displayed at the fair include garments, textiles, handicrafts, handlooms, carpets, leather and leather goods among a host of other products. Sri Lanka is the partner country for the DITF – 2009.

The organizers are expecting brisk business and hope to overtake figures achieved in the fair conducted last year. They are expecting the exhibitors to receive spot orders worth Taka 1,000 million compared to Taka 200 million received in the previous trade fair.

Along with the spot orders, they are also expecting companies to sign long term deals worth more than Taka 5,000 million. They are also expecting a influx of foreign buyers and expect the trade fair to be a success for the exhibitors.
