Buyers for China dominated sales this week followed by support from India. The dominance of China is reflected in the ABS February export data which showed that 76.1% of exports in that month went to China.

Sales will be held in Sydney, Melbourne and Fremantle next week, when 43,289 bales are currently rostered for sale. Present estimates for the following two sales are 46,470 and 42,500 bales, respectively. A decrease of 12.4% over the three sale period when compared with last year.

In South African sales, where 10,452 bales were on offer, the Cape Wools Indicator was down by 0.7% since last week against a 1.6% appreciation of the Rand against the US Dollar and a 3.4% appreciation against the Euro.
