The Nuance Group Australia and Westralia Airports Corporation announced that they have extended Nuance's duty free contract at Perth Airport for an additional two years. The duty free concession operated by Nuance under the F1RST Tax and Duty Free brand will now run to October 2013.
Jann Fisch, CEO The Nuance Group Australia, commented, “We are delighted to have extended this concession. It is the result of a much improved relationship and partnership in recent years which has led to significant improvements in operating performance and a much enhanced retail offer for customers at Perth Airport.”
Perth Airport CEO Brad Geatches commented, “We are very pleased with how Nuance has developed the duty free offer at Perth Airport's International Terminal over recent years. They have a very good team in place to develop the business further and offer Western Australians and our international visitors a world class duty free experience.”
Perth Airport has enjoyed strong international growth of 3 per cent year to date. At the same time duty free spend per passenger has increased strongly, boosted by the redevelopment of the Departures and Landside stores. Work is now underway to expand and refurbish the Arrivals store to provide an enhanced and broader retail offer. Completion is scheduled for September 2009.
