Cationic filament market shows shrinking trend

In the past week, polyester filament market continued on a depressing trend due to decline in raw material prices and poor purchasing power from downstream weaving factories.
In Shengze market, cationic filament market, which is mainly used in production of cationic silk fabrics by water-jet weaving looms also showed a shrinking trend with FDY75D quoted at 12,300 Yuan per ton.
Other products also fell by 100-200 Yuan per ton. 50D/24F was quoted at 12,900 Yuan per ton, 63D/36F at 12,500 Yuan per ton, 100D/48F at 11,600 Yuan per ton and 50D / 72F at 11,000 Yuan per ton.
In addition, FDY200D and 300D dropped to 10,900 Yuan per ton and 10,800 Yuan per ton. Prices of cationic DTY75D/36F, 100D/36F, and 150D/36F also fell. POY 50D/48F, 75D/48F and 100D/36F declined by 100-200 Yuan per ton from the previous week.
According to relevant sources, the reason for the current decline of cationic filament is that raw material prices from upstream sector have fallen. Cationic slice sank by nearly 200 Yuan per ton within one week.
Cationic slice now stands between 9100-9200 Yuan per ton. Settlement level of some large manufacturers was believed to be done at 9350 Yuan per ton, down 250 Yuan from that in the previous week. Offer for the next week is 9200 Yuan.
In addition, weaving factories in lower reaches are prudent about cationic filament procurement, resulting in sales pressure on cationic filament. Market participants believe that cationic filament market is expected to decline further in the near future.
