The Turkish Premier Mr Recep Tayyip Erdogan has reiterated his government's commitment to supporting the textile and clothing sector in the face of the hardships faced by the sector due to the ongoing economic crisis.

Mr Erdogan said this while addressing the participants at the 15th Home Textiles fair in Istanbul and added by saying that, Turkey's share of the global home textiles production stood at 11 percent, making it the third biggest manufacturer in the world.

He said this was the largest textiles fair in the country, which had nearly 667 companies with 1,500 brands exhibiting in it and was a very good opportunity for manufacturers who were in search of new markets.

He concluded by saying that, this fair carried a special importance since, as ways and means to tackle and overcome the effects of the economic crisis would be discussed at the various seminars organised during the course of the fair.
