Plasma technology can contribute to sustainability in textiles – PEGAS

He concluded the interview by informing us about the research areas for newer applications of plasma technology in fabrics and said, “We are focusing on nonwovens and in this field we can see primarily three different areas of application. They are durable hydrophility of hygiene products, durable hydrophobicity of medical protective nonwovens and a durable oleophobic treatment of medical nonwovens”.

“However, in theory, plasma can play a positive role in other applications like in the deposition of nanoparticles and nanofibres on existing nonwovens etc. bringing along more new features and all of these applications are considered today as added value products and such products may be differentiated from commodities in the future”, he concluded the interview by saying.
