The state government of Jammu and Kashmir has given its approval to set up two textile parks in the state, which will be able to provide employment to around 4,000 people. The parks will be set up at a cost of Rs 1.30 crores.

This was announced by the Chief Secretary of the state, Mr SS Kapur, who also chairs the Apex Projects Clearance Committee (APCC) and has urged the committee to undertake land acquisition process for the parks.

He called upon the private sector to set up viable and cost effective production centres which may be able to provide maximum employment for the unemployed youths of the state in the parks.

But he added by saying that all these units should be environmentally safe units and should not be pollution creators and requested the committee to help entrepreneurs desirous of setting up units by providing guidance.
