The Tamil Nadu Cooperative Textile Processing Mills, a government owned entity will begin to take orders from private sector other than the government owned enterprises, which it has been doing since its inception.
The mill, till date used to process fabric from only government owned mills of Tamil Nadu and neighboring states like Karnataka and Kerala, will now purchase new processing machinery in order to be able to cater to the private sector.
The processing mill was not able to run its machinery at optimum production capacity and could provide employment roughly for only 240-280 days in a year, the main reason for which the decision to process fabric from private sector textile mills.
The Erode based mill used to take orders from state government controlled mills and societies for processing and also from Karnataka Handloom Development Corporation and Handtex and Handweave of the Kerala Government.
