The volume of cotton reserves to be released on June 9 will be 25,275 tons, of which, 11,096 tons are cotton reserves procured in 2003 and 14,179 tons is cotton purchased in 2008.
Of the 2003 cotton reserves, 10,092 tons is imported cotton and the rest home grown. Amongst the countries from which they have been imported are US, Mali, Cameroon, Togo, Benin and Burkina Faso.
Out of the home grown cotton from within the 2003 reserves, cotton has been procured from four provinces; Shandong, Xinjiang, Hebei and Tianjin and the main grade of 2003 cotton reserves averages at between levels of 4-5.
Cotton reserves procured in 2008 are stored in nine warehouses in Shaanxi, Hebei, Hunan, Gansu, Henan and Shandong and the main grade is between levels 3-4.
