Official sources in the South Korea based, Honam Petrochemicals informed Fibre2fashion that the company is planning a maintenance turnaround for MEG line no-1 which is located in Daesan.
The MEG line no-1 which has a capacity of 250,000 tons per annum will be shutdown from June 20 for about 20 to 25 days. The main reasons attributed for this shut down are low profit margins.
However, MEG line no-2, which has a total capacity of around 3,90,000 tons per year is currently running at full capacity rates and will continue to do so during the turnaround of line no-1.
