Comprehensive range of eco-textiles at autumn industry event

Continuing on the success of the previous season's edition, Interstoff Asia Essential Autumn, returns with renowned exhibitors from around the globe.The fair, running from 7 to 9 October 2009 at the Hong Kong Convention & Exhibition Centre, has confirmed participants, including textile manufacturers and fashion designers, who will showcase a comprehensive range of fashion, eco-friendly and functional fabrics.

The show provides an ideal business platform for trade amongst industry professionals; it is also a major draw for exhibitors seeking international buyers from the Asia-Pacific region.Many exhibitors are looking to Interstoff Asia Essential to take advantage of this prime marketing destination.

“We joined the show to increase business in not only Hong Kong but from European buyers as well,” said Mr. Julian Choi, from SFT Inc, one of Korea's Global Organic Textiles Standard (GOTS) GOTS standardized textile manufacturers. GOTS defines the requirements for the organic status of textiles, from harvesting through environmentally and socially responsible manufacturing and up to garment labeling. SFT Inc will display several unique items at the show including pro-modal textiles, organic cotton and blends and eco-friendly fabrics.

Reaffirming its position as a specialised eco-friendly trade event, eco certification pavilions will also be on the fair to share their expertise. Among the certification bodies confirmed will be Control Union and bluesign technologies ag. A group under the auspices of Control Union will feature organic fibres and raw material textiles. Professionals can also get first hand information on criteria for sustainable textiles according the GOTS standardizations at the special pavilion.

Equally as important, will be the bluesign technologies ag Pavilion that focuses on optimised dyeing and finishing processes, which are in line with Messe Frankfurt's 'Blue label' trend forum. bluesign technologies ag certified textile manufacturer, Everest Textiles from Taiwan has already confirmed to participate at this A/W 2009 show.

Another feature will be country and region pavilions that will highlight the latest product developments and expertise from China, Korea, Japan and Taiwan. These special zones will help buyers maximise their sourcing time at the fair.
