One-day Conference on 'Geosynthetics: Opportunties & Challenges'

FICCI is happy to inform you that with the support of Office of the Textile Commissioner, Ministry of Textiles, GOI FICCI-WRC is organizing a One-day Conference on "Geosynthetics: Opportunties & Challenges" on Thursday, 16th July, 2009, at Mayfair Banquets, Worli, Mumbai. This Conference will focus on the advantage of promoting the usage of geotextiles in building infrastructure.
The multi-functional institute BTRA will be associated as Knowledge Partner for this Conference. They will be preparing the Concept Paper. VJTI is supporting our endeavor as Academic Resource Partner. Tecoya Trend, Textile Excellence and YarnsandFibres are our Media Partners.
The Geotextile sector comprises of technical textiles products used in Geotechnical applications and are currently used to advantage in many civil engineering applications including roads, airfields, railroads, embankment, retaining structures, reservoirs, canals, dams, bank protection, costal engineering, etc. The major function performed by Geotextiles is separation, reinforcement, filtration, drainage and protection.
It includes diverse items such as woven or non-woven geotextiles, geogrids, geonets, geomembranes, geocomposites, etc. Geo textiles are diving the infrastructure sector profitably by improving the productivity of the roads and pavements, tunnels, highways, rail-track bed, etc
As you are aware Indian government is investing heavily in improving the country's infrastructure. This would drive the demand for production and usage of geotextiles. In view of the vast opportunities in the manufacture, marketing and usage of geotextile products we are organizing this conference.
The conference also aims to provide a unique platform to all the stakeholders of the geotech industry viz., geotextile manufacturers and players of infrastructure sector, researchers, government agencies, investors, financial institutions, civil engineers, technicians and consultants working on all types of geotextiles to comprehensively discuss the problems, issues and challenges faced by them.
