Since the beginning of this year, entrepreneurs in Shishi city have launched projects in various forms of renewable resources. At the same time, some backbone textile and garment enterprises have raised funds to install equipment for recycling production of wastewater, waste gas and waste residue.
Industry experts aver that the small textile and garment units in Shishi city lack the resources to raise the huge amounts these equipments cost to install. But still they have made a start and now over the past two years, more than 20 textile and garment units have set up renewable resources and environmental protection projects.
In 2009, itself, more than 10 enterprises have started implementing emission reduction and energy saving projects. But experts advise the units to be cautious and say that these investments must not be made blindly, since the pay back period and gestation periods for these types of projects is very long.
