A manufacturer of specialty coatings for automobiles, 'Stahl USA' is selling its factory in Peabody in coming month and shifting it to Mexico, Holland or Spain, informed Mr. Britt Keaton, Plant Manager of the Company.

However, the company will maintain its sales and marketing office in the city, he added, saying that he has no idea about the number of layoffs after company's closure. In more than 28 countries the company employs 1,300 people.

It specializes in high-quality coatings for leather, textiles and related products. Also it produces dyes and chemicals for the processing of leathers. Stahl has the history of 95 years in the city.

This international company has its headquarters in the Netherlands. It operates nine manufacturing sites and 26 technical service laboratory facilities across the globe.
