Ethylene prices for CFR Northeast Asia, which had started moving on a correction course in the last fortnight, fell for the third consecutive week on August 5, when compared with last Wednesday's prices.
CFR Northeast Asia fell back quite a bit from $1036-1038 per metric ton to $995-997 per metric ton on August 5. CFR Southeast too followed the course set by CFR Northeast Asia prices to dip from $1023-1025 per metric ton to $1010-1012 per metric ton.
Ethylene prices in the FD Northwest European markets, which had grown by nearly €45 per ton on July 29, however remained stable on August 5, when corresponded with those prevailing on July 29 and were quoted at €770-775 per metric ton.
Ethylene prices for CIF Northwest Europe too remained steady for the second consecutive week at $890-900 per metric ton.
Prices of ethylene in the US market which had started rebounding from the previous fortnight onwards, continued to flare up from US cent 21.880-22.130 per pound on July 29 to US cent 24.250-24.500 per pound, yesterday.
