A spokesperson of the Taiwanese jeans manufacturer, Nien Hsing has denied the allegations that the manufacturing unit located in Lesotho was dumping untreated chemical waste in to a nearby river.

He also refuted allegations that, the company was throwing blades, needles and dumping chemical waste in land fills, endangering the health of numerous children who search the landfills for objects, which they can sell.

He said that the chemical effluents discharged by the company were treated by a government appointed contractor and that the landfill in question was used as a dumping ground by 50 companies, making it difficult to identify the perpetrator.
