ELINA MÄÄTTÄNEN wins Designers' Nest Award

Aug '09
The Designers' Nest Award August 2009 was held Saturday 8th at 3 PM, showcased at the CPH Vision Show Scene in Øksnehallen and presenting the collections from graduate students from 8 Nordic Design Schools - the longest Designers' Nest show so far , with 66 styles and 32 designers.

The award show was visited by the patron of Designers' Nest, HRH Crown Princess Mary of Denmark, alongside Danish and international press and visitors of CPH Vision & Terminal-2.

The verdict was given by our estimated panel of judges for this occasion:
Colin McDowell, Senior Fashion Writer for the Sunday Times & Founder og Fashion Fringe at Covernt Garden Tom Steifel-Kristensen, Creative Director & Fashion Expert.
Silke Emig, Editor Textilwirtschaft.

HRH Crown Princess Mary of Denmark presented the price to the winner.

The judges motivation for choosing her was described as the following:
The winner of Designers' Nest August 2009 has created a modern and consistent collection in exclusive silk and cotton materials. Elina's work is a fine example of creativity and salability in one - a relaxed and yet very chic look.

ELINA MÄÄTTÄNEN is followed by the first runner up Elind Almlid, (ESMOD Oslo) and second runner up Katrine Hedegaard (Designskolen Kolding).

Due the many talented designers presenting this year, the Designers' Nest Award had an honorable mention, for the first time ever.
