A delegation from the Cotton Growers Association of Mato Grosso has arrived in Bangladesh to meet the cotton buyers and textile mills in Bangladesh.
The cotton delegation is in Bangladesh to promote the usage of Brazilian cotton in Bangladesh, which till date has a very low market share of the cotton consumption in the country.
The visiting cotton farmers and traders will interact with the stake holders of the textile and cotton sector in a bid to seize a greater share of this ever growing market.
Brazil which is the fifth largest cotton producer in the world, also ranks fifth in exports of cotton may see its output of the white gold falling to around 1.2 million tons in the current cotton season.
The production in the previous cotton season stood at 1.6 million tons.
