The immediate past Chairman of Cotton Textile Exporters Council of India, Mr. Prem Malik will visit Nigeria and deliver a series of lectures during the forthcoming 'First International Conference' on Nigerian Textile Industry, which will be held between September 1 and 4.
The speech will focus on the revival of the ailing textile industry of the West African country, since; the country has experienced a setback on account of the entry of fake textile products through its porous borders.
Mr. Malik will deliver three key lectures on Management of Textile Industry for Success, Alternative Power Source and Power Synergy on Manufacturing Floors and Formulation of Growth for Propelling Textile Policy, informed the lecture organizers.
Nigerian textile industry was adversely impacted by the fake products coming from the foreign countries, especially from China, said the Commerce Minister, Mr. Chief Achike Udenwa.
He further said that factors such as power shortage and smuggling brought discouragement in Asian entrepreneurs regarding the production of goods in Nigeria, while at the same time he acknowledged the presence of Indian textiles in Nigeria for long.
