China Chemical Fiber Economic Information Network (CCFEI) and Tecnon OrbiChem are to cooperate again to jointly organise the 7th China International Polyamide & Intermediates Forum.

The nylon industry was hit hard by the economic turmoil of the second half of 2008. Producers suffered heavy losses, and were forced to cut production. In 2009, although the aftershock of the financial crisis remains, there are signs of improvement in caprolactam and nylon markets. Will the world economic environment continue to improve? What kind of macroeconomic policies will China adopt?
Caprolactam production in China has been increasing during the first half of 2009, while import volumes of caprolactam and nylon 6 chips reached record highs, amid rising prices up and down the chain. Will the market sustain this momentum in 2010? In the first half of 2009, demand was clearly increasing, particularly from domestic textile, tire and automobile sectors. Debate continues over what changes can be expected in nylon derivatives and feedstocks markets in 2010; but all agree that changes will take place.
China launched an anti-dumping investigation on adipic acid in 2008, and on nylon 6 chip in 2009. - What kind of impact will these investigations have on China's nylon industry? - What strategies will leading world players adopt, with China likely to rank as one of the first countries to emerge from the shadow of the global economic downturn? What changes will emerge in the world nylon industry, and how can the Chinese nylon industry meet these changes and create opportunities from the many challenges?
