Acrylic fibre output realizes y-o-y growth in June

The June production of acrylic fiber in China reached about 40,900 tons, up nearly 5,400 tons, or 15.21 percent from the previous month, and an increase of nearly 6,400 tons, or 18.55 percent year-on-year.

June sales were about 40,000 tons, an increase of nearly 3,300 tons, or 8.99 percent from the previous month, a year-on-year growth of nearly 3,100 tons, or 8.40 percent.

June stocks were about 6,400 tons, an increase of nearly 900 tons, or 16.36 percent from the previous month, but a year-on-year deduction of nearly 17,600 tons, or 73.33 percent.

According to (sample enterprises) statistics from the China Textile Circulation Association, cumulative production of acrylic fiber in the first half of 2009 touched about 217,700 tons, down nearly 22,200 tons, or 9.25 percent year-on-year.

Cumulative sales of acrylic fiber in the same period were about 229,400 tons, down 19,600 tons, or 7.87 percent year-on-year.

Total inventories were about 6,400 tons, down nearly 17,600 tons, 73.33 percent year-on-year, in the first six months of 2009.

Acrylic fiber prices continued to rise steadily in June. Market price rose to 17,800 Yuan per ton by the end of the month, up 400 Yuan per ton or 2.06 percent from the beginning of the month.
