Lackluster week for polyester/nylon composite filament

24
Aug '09
In the past week, market of polyester / nylon composite filament continued to be flat and the overall market conditions displayed lackluster, though product prices consolidated.

In Shengze market, prices of polyester/ nylon composite filaments maintained the level of the previous weekend. DTY150D/36F×16, DTY160D/72F×16 polyester/ nylon composite filament remained at 16600-16800 Yuan per ton, the same as the closing from its previous weekend.

DTY90D/75F×16 polyester/ nylon composite filament and DTY75D/36F×16 polyester/ nylon composite filament focused at 22,700 ton per ton. Market sales were concentrated mainly on DTY160D/72F×16, as it is mainly used in production of moss twill peach fabrics.

Market outlook:
Quotation of polyester/ nylon composite filament has maintained stability, but price of polyester chips, which is a raw material for polyester is declining continuously, which brings a quite negative influence on polyester/ nylon composite filament market, making purchasing power of polyester/ nylon composite filament is weak.

Although downstream demand has gradually picked up, the textile manufacturers are not willing to invest too much into buying filament yarn, on the presumption that filament rates may fall in future.
