While speaking with a delegation from the fashion and designing sector, the federal textile minister, Rana Muhammad Farooq Saeed Khan said that development of the fashion and design industry was the need of the time to help add value.
He said that home textiles was one of the sub-sectors where value additions began and Pakistan has created a name for itself in products of home textiles, but there were a few other textile sub-sectors where, value addition was low.
The government realizes the importance of the fashion and designing sub-sector and maximum efforts will be made to develop it because, it is the requirement of the industry and also need of the hour, he continued by saying.
Towards this purpose, the government will encourage setting up of fashion and designing institutes, development of skilled faculty and work force, industrial linkages and affiliation with global fashion institutes on public-private partnership basis.
