The government of Ghana is committed to the cause of the growth and development of the textile and garment sector in Ghana. This was reiterated, by the Central Regional Minister, Ama Benyiwa-Doe.
She also exhorted the locals to patronize locally manufactured fabrics to promote domestic industries. Recently, the government had propagated the concept of Friday wear to promote wearing of traditional Ghanaian made textiles and clothing.
She said government has set up the Garment Village at the Tema Free Zone enclave and other locations in Accra as a support towards the growth of such industries.
She also advised business organizations and other public service officials to embrace the spirit of Friday Wear to promote the rich Ghanaian culture.
