Fashion from 11 nations will hit Dubai runways as Arabia Fashion Week debuts its Spring/Summer 2010 edition. 22 leading local and international designers will showcase their latest creations in as many exciting shows during the event. AFW is scheduled for November 4 - 6, 2009.

Backed by a team of seasoned fashion and events professionals, AFW aims to establish Dubai as the region's version of an international fashion hub by offering the fashion design industry a platform at par with its international counterparts within the dynamic business environment of UAE. The event will be held at Dubai's newest and by far most comprehensively designed event venue, The Palladium in Dubai Media City.

The venue is a fully equipped event centre with an auditorium covering 2500 square metres, which during AFW will be divided into the show enclosure, post show press conference room, media and VIP Hospitality lounges.

AFW is also pleased to announce its association with Gulf for Good a Dubai based charity, under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Ahmed Bin Saeed Al Maktoum, and will conduct fund raising programs as part of the overall event.

Visitors, Buyers and the Media can expect to see some of the finest collections of bridge/couture to prêt o porter from over 11 nations including UAE, Germany, Lebanon, India, Pakistan, Italy, Spain and South Africa.

“Considering the exceedingly impressive fashion façade the region possesses, we felt an event to attract true international media and industry attention was needed. AFW aims to bridge the gap by offering an invaluable platform for cross cultural expression in the region's most sought after destination, while bringing luxury back to Dubai runways,” said Yaser Ali, CEO, THELOOK Fashion & Events.

“Through our 10 years of experience in the industry and some of the finest events experts, AFW plans to secure the top spot amongst the region's fashion events,” he added.

As an exclusive event, AFW will focus on offering retail buyers, fashion professionals, and media attendees with an insight on the latest offerings from international top designers while enhancing exposure and increasing the industry's revenue and trade potential. Arabia Fashion Week 2009 is being organized by THELOOK Fashion and Events.
