Qingdao textile museum holds century old relics

Qingdao Textile Museum, located at the site of original silk plant of Qingdao, was formally opened on September 29. The Textile Museum has been built on an area measuring 5,000 square meters.

The museum has four storeys, and within its walls, it has more than 3,000 pieces of items with historical research value, which have been collected form the general public and from other institutes and societies.

In history, the Qingdao textile industry is considered at par with those in Shanghai and Tianjin. It has also moved far ahead since the establishment of "Germany-China filature" in 1902.

The Qingdao Textile Museum does not only provide a platform for learning to textile enthusiasts, but also opens a new window for people to understand Qingdao textiles and also carries far-reaching practical and historical significance.
