Consumer demand forces manufacturers to go green

There is now an increasing awareness for green activities among the consumers. They are becoming increasingly conscious towards environmentally friendly consumer goods. This eco-friendly tendency has extended towards clothing, towels, hats, diapers, and many other textile products.

Buyers of E.U. and U.S. show much consideration to ecological materials while shopping for their clothing requirements. Textile and apparel manufacturers are instructed to evaluate each and every stage of the supply chain and life cycle of their products. They are encouraged to minimize various hazards those products would pose to the human society.

They have been instructed to give special and careful attention in the selection of dyes and chemicals, which are low in formaldehyde content, free from pesticides and heavy metals etc. Eco-textile is a remedial measure that the textile and apparel industry that adopts to reduce this environmental pollution and its commitment to the ecological care.
