Demanding, that the Governor of West Java, Mr Ahmad Heryawan, put pressure on the Municipal and Rgency administrations for wage hike, hundreds of workers rallied outside his office in Bandung.

Workers from industrial centers in Bogor, Sukabumi, Purwakarta, Bekasi, Sumedang and other regencies took part in this protest and want their increment of wages scheduled for 2010 to be set as per province's current fair living need (KHL).

The workers are protesting, since the scrapped provincial minimum wages and allowed each municipality and regency administrations to determine their own monthly salary for workers.

The workers in the province are receiving salary much lower than the regency's monthly KHL, said the protesting workers.
