Gurjari Exhibition, a 10 day event that displays variety of handlooms and handicrafts, and highlights the history of Gujarat, will continue till November 5 at the Institute of Engineers.
The exhibit showcases myriad products comprising colourful and designer dresses, cloths, jewelry items, purses, bags, gift items, gloves, puppets made of cloth and wood. A variety of items linked with the lifestyles of Gujarati people are also on display in this exhibition-cum-sale.
Garments, textiles and saris dyed with vegetable and chemical dyes are the main attractions of the expo. Bed coverings and dress materials with embroidery works as well as artwork on wall hangings and door hangings, beadwork and jewelry boxes are also on display.
The exhibition is a platform that showcases artifacts which are the representations of culmination of skills, techniques and refinement that have been passed on from one generation to the next.
