Retail sales grow exponentially in 2009

China's 100 key large-scale retail enterprises achieved a 13.45 percent cumulative growth in value of clothing retail sales in the first three quarters this year, creating a new high this year and also realized a 6.19 percent growth in volume of retail sales.
The third quarter achieved a 20.3 percent growth of retail sales, which was up by 12.09 percentage points from the growth rate of the first quarter and also an increase of 5.72 percentage points from the growth rate of the second quarter.
Retail sales in the first, second and third quarters represented a volume growth of 0.4 percent, 12.11 percent and 6.7 percent, respectively.
