The textile industry of Nigeria would have helped the country to overcome current economic atmosphere, if it would have grown substantially, stated Mr. Alhaji Sule Lamido, Jigawa State Governor, while receiving a team from Elliott Consulting Limited, London led by its Managing Director, Mr. Edward Elliott.
Mr. Lamido further said that the people in Nigeria do not need assistance from other countries to develop themselves, but could foster development by generating the emotions of patriotism and commitment into them.
However, Mr. Elliott said that it is unfortunate that the local people are not patronizing indigenous textile materials of Nigeria.
Mr. Lamido added that, progress is possible for the African countries in shortest time, if they focused on their basic needs, hence he advised Elliott Consulting Limited to always consider the basic needs of its partner region.
