In the previous week, Asian benzene price closed at US $958-961 per ton (FOB South Korea) on Friday, up $62 per ton from $896-899 per ton, the closing price of its previous week.
In the domestic markets, benzene prices in domestic market too rose. As of Friday, market price in East China ranged in between 7,050-7,100 Yuan per ton, up 400 Yuan per ton from the closing price of the previous week.
Market prices in South China stood at 6,950-7,000 Yuan per ton, up 550 from the closing price of last week while market prices in North China indicated 6,950-7,000 Yuan per ton, up 400 Yuan from the closing price of 6,550-6,600 Yuan per ton of the last Friday.
Offers from domestic benzene traders were firm and went higher driven by external prices, resources in domestic market were limited; some manufacturers increased their prices. Market participants expect market to move slightly higher.
