The 14th International Crafts Selling Exhibition opened at the AF-L'Artigiano at Fiera Milan, Italy on December 5, wherein around 45 Indian companies are displaying the best of their eco-friendly handicrafts. The participation of Indian companies in the fair is considered as one of the important and effective measures to market Indian handicrafts.

An Indian pavilion has been set up at the exhibition by the Export Promotion Council for Handicrafts (EPCH) which is showcasing a variety of products, including Kashmiri handicrafts, jewelry, fashion accessories, leather-ware, tableware, furniture, glass products, embroidered products, Christmas decorative items, lamps, wall paintings, home textiles and home furnishings.

A live demonstration by seven crafts-persons is also a major attraction of the pavilion. The nine-day exhibition offers order booking for future as well as spot deliveries to departmental stores, chain stores, importers and agents.

The US is the largest market for Indian handicraft products, followed by the United Kingdom, Germany, France, Italy, the Netherlands and Switzerland. Besides, UAE and Japan are also substantial buyers of Indian handicrafts.

Italy, particularly AF L'Artigiano in Fiera, has been a centre for business generation in Europe, visited by buyers from Europe as well as from other parts of the globe.
