Rieter Award for future textile professionals

The Rieter Award has been presented annually since 1989 to students and young professionals in the field of textile engineering. Rieter has created the Rieter Award to support the textile education facilities to train and to promote young people. Furthermore the Award creates a global communication between students, institutes and Rieter Textile Systems.
The Award winners are selected in close cooperation with universities and professors worldwide. Those chosen are students and young professionals in the field of textile engineering who have distinguished themselves through soundly based academic work and great commitment. A good knowledge of English is a prerequisite for nomination to receive a Rieter Award. The winners are invited to travel to Switzerland to present their graduation theses in Winterthur.
The four Rieter Award Winners in 2009 are: Mr. Ajit Singh (India), Mr. Caio Sado (Brazil), Mr. Saidur Rahman (Bangladesh) and Mr. Bakhriddin Turakulov (Kazakhstan).
The 21st Rieter Award Week was held from September 28th to October 3rd. The winners gained an insight into Rieter's world during a week's stay in Switzerland. On the program were visits to several textile production companies and to some famous tourist attractions. The Award Week is an unforgettable experience not only for the students, but also for the Rieter staff taking part.
The Rieter Award was brought into being to help young specialists in their transition to the professional world and to establish worldwide contacts. Many of the friendships made during this week last a lifetime. Developing and encouraging young specialists is a tradition at Rieter - over 100 Award winners can confirm this tradition.
