According to preliminary statistics, textile and apparel imports by US from countries across the globe in the period January to November in 2009, displayed a decline of about 10 percent.
Among them, textile and apparel imports from China increased 1.9 percent and at the same time China's share amongst US imports from the sector grew to 40.69 percent from 34 percent in the same period of last year.
Chinese customs data show that export decline in November slightly narrowed year on year and textile exports growth turned positive while that of clothing still languished in negative territory.
