A meeting of the exporting units having dyeing units has been held in TEA on 23.12.2009 and discussed about the decision of Dyers Association of Tirupur (DAT) to go for indefinite strike since 25.12.2009.
Shri.S.Duraiswamy, Vice President, TEA said the Dyeing units of exporters have decided to call for one day strike on 25th December 2009 to give a moral support to the Dyers Association of Tirupur. It has been also requested the Central and State Governments to immediately intervene and settle the issues amicably.
Shri.S.Duraiswamy added that in case if any favourable decision has not been taken then it will totally affect the exports and more than five lakh workers will get affected.
Shri.S.Duraiswamy further said that if the right solution is not got then without option the dyeing units of exporters will also be compelled to take part in the strike announced by DAT. Finally, he appealed to both Central and State Government to solve the problem and protect the business and workers.
