KCA reports dull cotton trading

Opening on a sluggish note the Karachi KCA (Karachi Cotton Association) reported cotton trading increase by Rs. 10 to Rs. 2,325 per maund.

On the eve of Eid-ul-Fitr, traders seem to have gone in the holiday mood Monday that resulted in dull trading session.

Trading ranged between Rs 2,300 and Rs 2,400 per maund and Sindh quality lint traded at about Rs 2,400 per maund.

However, Punjab cotton was traded at Rs 2410 per maund during the session.

Pakistan's spinning industry is reported to consume about 17 million bales per year and this year about 3 million bales shortfall is expected that would have to be catered through imports.

Meanwhile, the All Pakistan Textile Mills Association have urged the Trading Corporation of Pakistan to review its export policy of cotton.

KCA has announced that Khangarh bale (200 nos) were traded at Rs 2,300 per maund, Sanghar (200 nos) at Rs 2,275, 600 bales from Sadiqabad at Rs 2,300, Bahawalpur (200) at Rs 2,350, 400 bales from Dera Ghazi Khan at Rs 2,350 and Rajanpur (200 nos) at Rs 2,360 per maund.

Mirpurkhas variety (200 nos) were sold at Rs 2,275 per maund, Alipur (200 nos) at Rs 2,325 per maund 200 bales of Faqirwala at Rs 2,350 per maund, 300 bales of Vehari at Rs 2,350 per maund, 200 bales of Jahania at Rs 2,350 per maund, 200 bales of Multan at Rs 2,350 per maund and 200 bales of Rahimyar Khan at Rs 2,350 per maund.
