RadiciGroup announced that it has signed a partnership agreement granting SO.F.TER. SpA – an Italian firm engaged internationally in the manufacture of polymer compounds– an exclusive licence to use the brand Heraflex P, a line of elastomeric polyolefins developed specifically for winter sport footwear.
RadiciGroup entered into the agreement as part of its production site rationalization process, which led to the closing of the Radici Elastomeri Srl (formerly Valerio Franceschetti Elastomeri) production site in Provaglio d'Iseo, Italy. According to the agreement, the Group is transferring all of Radici Elastomeri's technical and commercial know-how to SO.F.TER., based in the region of Romagna.
Regarding the other brands of the Heraflex range – Heraflex A (SEBS compounds ideal for applications in the automotive, sanitary and houseware sectors) and Heraflex B (SBS compounds) –, RadiciGroup has confirmed that it is continuing production at its German site, RadiciPlastics GmbH, active in the production of these thermoplastic elastomers for many years. Additionally, Heraflex E TPE-C copolyester thermoplastic elastomers will still be produced and sold by RadiciGroup Plastics.
As a result of their performance characteristics, RadiciGroup thermoplastic elastomers meet the needs of markets, such as automotive, furnishings, sport, and electric/electronics, which require quality, reliability and safety. Since the 1990s, RadiciGroup has manufactured TPEs – styrene TPEs for the automotive sector, in particular – at its German plants.
