Exhibitor Record for Jewellery Show Mr Chau noted that the Jewellery Design Competition is “an essential part” of the HKTDC Hong Kong International Jewellery Show, and that all winning entries from the competition will be on display during the 5-9 March event. The show will set a new exhibitor record, with more than 2,600 from 44 countries and regions expected to attend, including first-time exhibitor Sweden. Another first at the fair will be World of Glamour, a new product zone showcasing fine jewellery from Hong Kong-based exhibitors. Hong Kong is the world's fourth-largest exporter of fine jewellery after Italy, the United States and India. The city's total exports of fine jewellery amounted to HK$28.5 billion (US$3.7 billion) in 2009, with record exports to the Chinese mainland (up 68 per cent), Belgium (up 53 per cent), Macau (up 30 per cent) and Australia (up nine per cent).
