Beauty, Fashion, and Entertainment's most anticipated event has arrived. The Blackout Awards, created to show appreciation to the outstanding individuals working behind the scenes in the entertainment industry will take place on Sunday, March 21, 2010 from 6- 10 PM at the Key Club, Newark's state of the art entertainment venue.

The Blackout Awards will honor ground-breaking fashion icon and go-to celebrity stylist Nolé Marin with the first-ever Blackout Vanguard Award. This award will recognize Marin for his many achievements in the fashion and entertainment industry. Marin known as America's favorite judge on America's Next Top Model, Canada's Next Top Model, ABC's True Beauty, and three-time coach of MTV's #1-hit makeover show MADE, has truly catapulted him to superstardom.

In addition to Marin's impressive honor, Misa Hylton, innovative celebrity stylist and image expert will receive the prestigious Naomi Sims Award of Excellence for her pioneering and entrepreneurial accomplishments in fashion and music entertainment. Hylton has been at the forefront of hip-hop's explosion into pop culture since the early nineties, and is one of the industry's most influential talents having styled industry heavyweights such as Mary J. Blige, Kimora Lee Simmons, and Lil' Kim.

Other honorees will include: Atiba Newsome, Christian Balenciaga, Dee Marshall, Eric Archibald, Hadiiya Barbel, Jerod McClairn, Karen Dupiche, Lulu Cooper, Marco Hall, Merrell Hollis, Quintin "Q" Hardy, Ronnie Wright, Terrence Davidson, Toni Swann, Will Robinson, William Marshall, Yusef Williams and Zeric Armenteros.

The event will be hosted by distinguished journalist, April Woodard, correspondent for Inside Edition and guest anchor on the BET Nightly News broadcast. The awards will also close with a fashion show presented by cutting-edge designer Marco Hall.

“This awards ceremony is given for the artist by the artist,” said Yancey Edwards, Founder of The Blackout Awards and hairstylist extraordinaire. “We are all in this together, and what makes The Blackout Awards so unique is that each individual is being honored and complimented by their peers.”

The Blackout Awards will also donate a portion of proceeds to the Hyacinth AIDS Foundation, the first and largest AIDS service organization in New Jersey that offers individual client advocacy as well as hotline counseling for prevention, care and treatment, and community education workshops for individuals in New Jersey living with HIV/AIDS.

This year's honorees will go home with HTC DROID ERIS devices. The Blackout Awards are proudly sponsored by HTC, FIJI Water, and Ampro.
